Seed Production Operations Manager - Pre Foundation
The Pre Foundation Operations Manager will report to the Soybean Product Pipeline Operations Crop Lead and lead the site in all soybean pre foundation plant and field operations. This position is located in Beaman, IA and the role includes the following
Responsibilities:
People management through motivation, leadership, and employee development
Supervision of all Pre-Foundation site and field employees and said operational activities
Direct responsibility for site compliance to all USDA Regulatory and Stewarded protocols.
Direct responsibility for ensuring all governmental rules and regulations are adhered to at the site i.e. EPA, DOL, OSHA, etc.
Budget control and continuous improvement projects through tools such as Six Sigma or Lean that support improvements in key deliverables
Maintaining cooperation and good working relationships between operations, other functional areas, and corporate office staff to ensure smooth flow of product through the facility and delivery of operational results related to safety, cost, quality, and reliability of supply.
Representing and leading the site and Monsanto as required in terms of community involvement.
Leading SAP, CQA and FIDO enhancements, assisting in the development of ISO procedures, and implementing best practices
SAFETY Operations Manager will lead and maintain accountability for adherence to Monsanto sponsored safety objectives. Oversee Pre Foundation site level safety committees and safety initiatives, along with initiating Management Of Change. Promote a 'zero' accident workplace along with developing and implementing changes to reach Monsanto Safety requirements. Recommend and coordinate, as necessary, seed production safety proposals designed to enhance site safety programs; e.g. field worker safety.
HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATION Operations Manager will lead the entire Pre Foundation site. This responsibility includes employee recognition, development, and discipline as necessary. Lead site continuous improvement efforts regarding Regulated/Stewarded seed production that involves employee training and skills in conjunction with employee promotion. Develop site plans to foster sharing along with employee development and retention. Build a strong team that is clear on their tasks and requirements to complete those tasks. QUALITY ASSURANCE Participate in continuous improvement seed quality initiatives. Produce product to meet/exceed stakeholder and customer quality expectations. Champion Site Seed Production compliance efforts around Regulated and Stewarded protocols. Assist with making necessary ISO and SOP updates as business and/or processes change. Lead and conduct annual reviews of site procedures identifying changes, updates, and enhancements with Crop Lead, prior to each season. Through promotion of QMS systems deliver the highest possible quality products at your location. Work directly with the Crop Lead in decisions on purity, germination, appearance and other quality matters. Consult with Foundation and/or Breeding on matters that have the potential to impact quality or cost. SUPPLY MANAGEMENT Understand basic SAP and be a resource for new plant personnel. Coordinate inventory, grower accounting and production. Direct all Pre Foundation site operations to insure ample supply of good quality seed. Champion the use of FIDO to collect field data. Develop and track site metrics to insure site is meeting supply requirements. Have ownership of site capital and operational budgets.

Qualifications:
Four year Business, Ag-Business or Agricultural Degree or related field required
8-10 years prior experience with seed manufacturing and inventory principles, practices and procedures is required
Prior supervisory/people management required
Prior experience within the seed industry preferred. Specific crop knowledge is vital to the role
Prior experience working with Regulated and Stewarded products is preferred
Ability to work and make decisions independently and autonomously
Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel
Excellent interpersonal skills in order for effective problem solving and coordination of information
Communication skills including the capability to clearly present information, influence or persuade others through oral or written communications
Capability to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues, even when dealing with emotional topics
Demonstrated professionalism and strong initiative and foresight when making decisions and delivering on tasks
Ability to demonstrate agility and positive results-orientation while working in a dynamic and changing environment

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
